Guest Post- Trying to Please Everyone

Hi, internetty people. I’m Anna- not Apple, unfortunately. This isn’t my first guest post, but I was thinking a lot about this topic recently, and I thought I would try and explain it- mainly for myself, to be honest. It might be a bit jumbled, but I’m working this out so try and bear with me.

Do you ever feel as if you are being pulled apart? Trying to please everyone at once and live up to expectations and, of course, to “be yourself.” So, tell me, how does anyone manage all that? I’m not perfect at all. Please, don’t expect me to be. Always, everywhere, I feel as if I need to make decisions that will satisfy everyone. That I need to be smart, but not too smart. I need to be pretty, but not too pretty. I need to stand up to the person being rude, but woe betide me if I’m rude back! I care too much about what people think and how they will judge me. Will my friends like that? Oh, I can’t let my brother see that, he might judge me. I grow smaller and smaller and smaller with every thought. Even now, writing this, I am anxious about what people will think of this. Maybe everyone will hate it, I don’t know.

Please, people. If everyone made an effort to let others know they will not judge, maybe the world would be a happier place.
Everyone would be able to wear onesies to school and have cake every day. Wouldn’t that be awesome?
Again, apologies if I haven’t managed to totally sum up how I feel. My mind can be a bit out of sync with my fingers and the keyboard. Pretty much all the time, come to think of it.

Delobbi, Sleepover and Studio Ghibli

Eve- Today, the Sleepover of Awesomeness with Anna and Eve culminates. We have some pictures of Delobbi (Delilah/Dobby) to share with you. Delobbi are ducks. DID YOU HEAR THAT? ANNA HAS DUCKS IN HER POOL! ISN’T THAT AWESOMELY AWESOME??!!??!!

Except we think Delilah and Dobby might have broken up, because Delilah has just disappeared. Though she might just be hiding in the tree…we’ll give you an update soon. For now, be content wth these pictures of Delobbi.
Anna- I think Eve might be just a touch hyper. It might have something to do with the several Nutella/banana/sugar pancake combination we had at breakfast. Or not.
Eve- Anyway, have you ever typed in a bunch of random letters and seen what spellcheck comes up with? It’s fun. Look:
Anyway colicky Ivor urn pakeha rsem x Ewan oxides jvodhem
See? It’s fun. You should try it.
Anna- But on a way, way, awesomer note, we went to see The Wind Rises with our friends. It came out only last Friday, and it is the last Studio Ghibli film by Hayao Miyazaki.
Eve – And it was SOO sad! It was very different from other Ghibli movies like My Neighbour Totoro and Porco Rosso. At the beginning, the boy kept having dreams in dreams in dreams (maybe the whole thing was just a dream) and it was very confusing. It was Ghibliception. But it was an EPIC film. The use of ‘epic’ in that sentence doesn’t mean ‘great’, by the way, it means ‘long and meaningful’. Or something. Think Lord of the Rings.
Anna- I kept crying at the end, and sneaking glances at the people sitting next to me, just to make sure I was the only only bawling. I wasn’t. Eve came over to my house afterwards, and we basically just watched Merlin, ate popcorn and sweets for the entire time. I personally was not complaining, even when we had to talk in whispers because my brothers were alseep- no! Delobbi!
Delobbi has disappeared. A sad day for all.
Eve- NO, DELOBBI, NO! Delilah, you have to come back! Actually, we’ve just been told Delilah is in the tree. Delobbi hasn’t broken up after all.

Things I’ve learnt from Horror movies

Hey, it’s Anna again! First of all, I must apologize for my weirdness in my introductory post. I also apologize for the weirdness in this post, too.

I don’t usually watch horror movies, for the simple reason I get terrified extremely easily, but also because I notice they seem to always have a recurring theme. (I’ve learnt some very important life lessons from films, so pay attention…)

    • People in scary films, are, in fact, idiots. It honestly doesn’t matter if they are super clever or intelligent in the actual film, because if anyone enters a spooky deserted mansion, they will automatically switch to being utter nutcases. Like this-
    • The characters are guaranteed to call out, “Hello? Anyone there?” or something stupid like that. Seriously, the murderer isn’t going to pop out of a closet, wave while brandishing an ax, and say, “Oh, yeah, hi there! Just waiting to kill you in a random closet! Go on, get back to screaming hysterically! Have a nice day…”
    • Some moron will have a handy idea, and suggests everyone should split up. This is a bad idea.I don’t even need to explain this.
    • Hiding under the table/blanket/bed will not make you immune to being murdered, I’m afraid to say. Apologies if I just crushed your hopes.

I’ve been ill all week, so that’s all I can write for the moment. Bye, Anna! x Paint.the.Sky (my blog)

Collaboration: Right Now tag

This is a sample of our daily conversation:

Anna: Eve [Apple], you can’t remember it. *snatches iPad away*
Apple (aka Eve): NAAAAAAAAAHG GIVE IT BACK *steals iPad back*
Anna: You know this is really painful? Can you move up?
Eve: MEH no! *moves up and snatches away the iPad*
Anna: Are we actually gonna do this?
Eve: Yes! Well, maybe actually not.

We have been trying to write a collaboration but as you may gather it is not working out that well. Well, Anna says it’s working out fine. Kind of. Anyway, we’re going to do a tag about stuff happening Right Now (capitalising every letter is important).

So…

1. What are you doing right now?

Anna: Um…being awesome.

Eve: Writing up all our answers for this collab post (duh) and listening to Anna’s music.

2. Are you listening to anything right now?

Anna: The song Fallen by Imagine Dragons…

Eve: Ditto but I am also listening to my own beautiful voice. Oh, and Anna’s too.

Anna: So modest.

3. What are you wearing right now?

Anna: I am wearing a pair of super warm – oh, what do you call them? – pyjama socks? Whatever. I’m taking them off. I’m also wearing a pair of jeggings and a tunic top.

Eve: And I am also wearing jeggings, but I’m wearing a black and white jumper that I bought on a shopping trip with Anna.

4. Where are you right now?

Anna: In my bedroom that happens to be in my house. Who would have guessed?!?

Eve: I mean, Anna, who would have guessed you’re in your own house? Anyway, I am in Anna’s house, coincidentally in her room as well.

5. What are you feeling like right now?

Anna: Relaxed. And…a bit hyper from Eve’s chocolate crispies/Easter cupcake things.

Eve: Personally, I’m not feeling that relaxed. I’m more on the hyper side, to be honest. *laughs manically*

6. What are you thinking right now?

Anna: That this is a really weird collaboration. Eve, what are you doing…

Eve: I’m not really thinking anything. I’m thinking about doing the candle thing but not the candle thing.

7. If you could eat anything, what would you eat right now?

Anna: I’m not actually that hungry, but if I had to have something to eat/drink, I would have an ice-cream float with fizzy melon juice, vanilla ice cream, chocolate sprinkles and an umbrella. Oh, and more cream.

Eve: Wow, that sounds nice. Personally, I really feel like a stroopwaffel. It’s like two waffles sandwiched together with syrup inside.

8. What specific thing are you looking at right now?

Anna: I have an exquisite view of my wardrobe at the moment…

Eve: I am looking at Anna’s red scarf which is hanging on her mirror.

9. What colour best describes your mood right now?

Anna: A soft orangey colour, so quite cheerful but not completely insane (which makes a change).

Eve: I feel like lime green. If we’re allowed to have a pattern, my lime green has calmer purple and orange spots.

10. What is your favourite thing, obsession and/or hobby right now?

Anna: My favourite thing right now is my iPod classic which I love. I’m also currently obsessed with the book Throne of Glass by Sarah J Maas. My favourite hobby at the moment is blogging. I don’t know what else to say.

Eve: Can I say I introduced you to Throne of Glass? Anyway, I think I’m more obsessed than you. I’ve read it like six times. My favourite thing at the moment is probably Anna’s Totoro slippers (even though I gave them to her). I’m not sure about my favourite hobby – probably writing/blogging as well.

Now, we are tagging three people to do this tag. If you’re tagged then all you have to do is answer the ten questions and maybe tag some other people to do it.

Thank you for reading this, we know we aren’t the sanest of people, but we had lots of fun doing this!

Here’s Anna’s blog-

Bye, Anna!! x

Bye, Apple/Eve xx

An Introduction to Anna (with extras by Apple)

Apple: Hello, people of the world. This post is going to be mostly written by my awesome friend who blogs over at Paint.the.Sky. She is going to share some of her mind with you.

I’m just testing this guest post thing out, but I’m hoping to make it a regular feature so if you just send me an email/comment then perhaps we could we you up here! And now, I shall pass the baton on to Anna…

Bye!!

Anna: I’m not good at introductions. I think that goes without saying for me. Whenever I guest blog (i.e- never) I’m pretty much like this;

“OK. Right, I’m going to ace this. When I’m done, my/this blog is going to have 1,000,000,000,000 views. Or something with a lot of zeros…”

Ten minutes later

“What should I say? Hi? Hello? How many exclamation marks should I put? Or does that make me sound like I’m permanently hyper? Sorry, I’ll rephrase- more permanently hyper. Meh, my grammar is evidently dying. Oooh, ‘evidently’ is a good word.”  And why on earth am I talking to myself? *Thumps head against desk*

Etc. You know, that doesn’t really put me in a very good light. Phhhhtttt, dignity? Nah.

Basically, I’m Anna, Apple’s friend and completely insane companion.

Phew, I need to lie down. Anyways, hi and goodbye!
